Greener Henley hosting stalls

134 134 people viewed this event.

Greener Henley and friends will be holding stalls and displays of many of the environmental activities we are doing in Henley.  It will be your chance to put your name down for an indigenous tree or shrub to plant on your property, and to gain advice from the Tree Group about the benefits of tree growing . Perhaps you can add to the map the Swifts Support Group are compiling  of known nesting sites of swifts in the town, and help with our study of the swift population. Come along and find out fascinating facts about the creature that Charles Darwin said was  the most important in the history of the world.  Learn some tricks about encouraging wildlife to your garden.  And if you have little ecologists they may like to come and make their own beetle in the Wildlife Wonders zone.  That’s where you can pick up spare copies of the map and instructions for the Family Treasure Hunt for Vanishing Species hidden in many of the shops’ window displays.  Come along and interact with the great folks of the Henley Rotary Club.  They promise to have lots of interesting things to show you and talk about.  Don’t forget to call in on the Fairtrade stall, and say hallo to the Henley Toad Patrol –  guess how many toads they helped across the Marlow Road in the spring?  Then there’s the Green Gym from Sonning Common who not only help out with landwork but keep fit in the process.

Displays of the Henley Environmental Action Plan will be on show for you to comment on.  Please pop in and tell us what you would like to do to make our town and our environment healthier.  For more information contact
